The Maribyrnong Toy Library is a program of the West Footscray Neighbourhood House Inc. and caters for children newborn to 8 years.
Our Toy Library operates just like a book library only we lend out toys not books. Members pay an annual membership fee, which entitles them to borrow from our large stock of toys.
OPEN Every Tuesday and Saturday 10am – 12pm
Toys available include:
- Ride-on cars;
- rockers;
- walkers;
- developmental games;
- puzzles
- roller skates/blades;
- musical instruments;
- cot & pram toys
- building blocks/lego & much more.
The Maribyrnong Toy Library is funded from membership fees, financial submissions, donations and an annual grant from the Maribyrnong City Council.
The Toy Library is Coordinated by Liza McKay and Jo Scanlon and continues to operate through the hard work of members and volunteers.
Annual Membership fee:
- $60.00 or $35.00 conc. (payment plans can be arranged by speaking to the Toy Library Coordinator)
- Membership is renewable annually and is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Membership entitlements:
- Borrowing of up to 4 toys at any one time;
- Toys may be borrowed for up to 2 weeks at a time (if not on hold for another member, loans may be extended by telephoning reception on 9687 3345.)
- Toys must remain in the possession of the member, in whose name they were borrowed and should not be lent to any other individual/group.
- A fee can be charged for late return of toys/puzzles, missing parts and/or dirty, damaged stock.
How you can assist:
- It is a requirement of membership that you volunteer to undertake at least 2 duty roster periods (2 hours each) during the year;
- We welcome the donation of quality toys in good condition that children may have outgrown;
- You will be invited to attend any training provided through the Toy Library;
- Your assistance during annual stocktaking and/or working bees would be greatly appreciated;
- Join our volunteer Toy Library sub-committee;
- Help with fundraising for the purchase of new toys.
