Parenting in a new culture can be hard. Learn all you need to know to parent successfully in Australia.

During this 6-week course created just for migrant and newly arrived families you will learn how to:

  • Help your child learn and grow in a new country
  • Maintain your cultural heritage and traditions
  • Build a strong relationship with your child
  • Access other local parenting supports

You will learn about:

  • Attending school in Australia
  • Your child’s development and guiding your child’s behaviour

The course will be run by Spectrum migrant resource centre on Mondays 8 August – 12 September 10am-12pm

The last week of the course is a picnic excursion and after you finish the course you can join weekly sessions for ongoing support.

This course is for migrant mothers, fathers or couples. Childminding is available. The course will be at West Footscray Neighbourhood House or Maidstone Child & Family Centre – we’ll let you know before the course starts.

Parenting in a new culture received funding from the Victorian Government through the West Gate Tunnel Project’s West Gate Neighbourhood Fund.

When the course finishes you will be invited to join ongoing weekly sessions where your children can play while you get support and chat with other parents. Register below or contact us for more information.
